The Ecology of Mustelids in New Zealand | New Zealand Department of Scientific and Industrial Research 1963 | William H Marshall | Second Hand Book | Okay Condition | Writing on Cover Pages
New Zealand is known to biologists all over the world as a land where spectacular developments in populations of exotic mammals have occurred. Of equal importance are the reported reductions in the populations of the fascinating avifauna which had developed under conditions of isolation almost unequalled on the globe. These changes have been sketched broadly but details of the interactions between introduced mammals and native birds are little known.
This account presents findings of field and laboratory work carried out between 20th September 1960 to 16th of June 1961. The author was a Fulbright Research Scholar on leave from the University of Minnesota. No American biologist could fully express his wonder at New Zealand's beauty and its fascinating biological features. He can return to his country convinced that he has had a truly rare experience that will influence his personal career in many ways.
