Crafted in New Zealand and built to last, the 2025 NZDA Limited Edition Bird and Trout Knife is a true collector’s item. Due to the rare wood, only a maximum of 125 will be made, and each one will be hand-numbered and stamped with the NZDA logo.
These knives are available now available via preorder and will begin shipping in December 2025. Pre-orders close November 10th (after the Sika Show).
If you would like to request a specific number, please include it in your order comments. Numbers will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, but we'll do our best to get you the number you ask for. If your chosen number has already been taken, a random number will be assigned. If we do not sell all 125 knives, the lowest number you request will be provided. Number 1 has been claimed, so try for other numbers.

Our rewarewa wood is legally and ethically sourced and comes from the native New Zealand tree Knightia excelsa, also known as New Zealand honeysuckle. It is a striking timber with reddish-brown tones and dark flecks, often showing a rippled or silky grain that polishes beautifully. It is prized for decorative uses such as furniture, veneers, musical instruments, and knife handles, where both strength and appearance matter.
