Bruce Banwell is recognized both in New Zealand and internationally as one of, if not, the leading authority on New Zealand deer herds. His previous books 'Wapiti in New Zealand', 'Highland Stags of Otago', and 'Red Stags of the Rakaia' have long been out of print and are now collectors items.
