This book is a factual record of the trials and tribulations of a still active orderinary 'Kiwi bloke' who loves hunting in general and deer in particular. From a kid shooting black birds with a slug gun, rabbits to deer and piges, then away to the South Island for big tallies of deer, and chamois and then, seven years as a government deer culler from 1949 with the Internal Affairs Department Wildlife Branch to 1956 as Area Supervisor with the New Zealand Forest Service, then on to private skin hunting and venison recovery. Trophy hunting was always paramount and he kept the best antlers and tusks
